Weddings
Tabernacle is a beautiful place to get married. Here are some frequently
asked questions about planning a wedding in this church:
- Do we marry non-members?
Yes.
- Do we marry non-Congregationalists?
What we offer is a Christian wedding ceremony within
the United Church of Christ tradition, meaning that there are
prayers, scripture readings, a brief sermon, and sometimes a
hymn. The marriage ceremony is a sacred service, filled with
joy and faith.
- Do we do a traditional or a contemporary
wedding ceremony?
We incorporate both. Each couple gets the opportunity to personalize
their ceremony through the selection of the readings and the music.
- How many times must the couple meet with
the Minister?
Usually three. These sessions are for pre-marital counseling as
well as planning the ceremony.
- How do I schedule my wedding?

- Are there fees?
The building fee is $400.00, which includes a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to book the date. The Ministers fee is $500.00 which includes 3 premarital counseling sessions. The Wedding Coordinator's fee is $300.00 which includes, but is not limited to, organizing the rehearsal; coordinating with the florist, photographer and wedding party to make your wedding day a memorable experience . The Organist fee is $300.00 which includes one meeting to select the music. If you would like a soloist please speak to Liz she will be happy to suggest someone.
Funerals
There are three types of services:
- funerals where a coffin
or ashes are present
- memorial services where neither coffin nor
ashes are present
- graveside services
In all of these, we are
gathered to worship God, to give thanks for and celebrate
the life of the deceased and to commend that life to God. The Ministers Fee for all funerals, memorial services or gravside service ranges from $250.00- $500.00. Please
