Worship At Tabernacle Congregational Church, United Church of Christ
Sunday is our Sabbath day.
At 10:00am during the school year, and 9:30am during the summer months, we gather together to celebrate God in our lives. Busy people, men and women who work full time jobs, or stay at home with their children, teenagers, youngsters, people in wheel chairs, mothers, fathers, grandparents, gay and lesbian partners and their children, seniors, people who live in poverty, wealthy people....Gathered together in this community of faith, we take time out of our lives to worship what is Holy in our lives.
We believe that setting aside an hour for worship to express our feelings of gratitude and humility in God’s presence, rekindles a healthy lifestyle for everyone. Music, prayer, scripture, reflections from the minister and other members of the congregation, and celebration of the sacraments of communion and baptism, offer us an opportunity to reconnect with God weekly.
Your relationship with God is important enough to set aside an hour each week. Please join us!
Traditions here at Tabernacle include World Communion Sunday, Mission Sunday, Children’s Sunday, Men and Women’s Sunday and Friendship Sunday. Each service has a regular ritual of Calling ourselves together, Invoking God’s presence among us, Listening to scripture, Participating in music, Engaging in a quiet conversation with the minister during the sermon, and Meditating silently during the prayers.
Sometimes we are transformed during worship by something extraordinary. Sometimes our worship together is an adventure in creativity. Sometimes we cry and other times we laugh. Occasionally, a puppet joins us for the weekly children’s message. Worshiping God is a Sacred Experience here at Tabernacle Church.
Join us on the Sabbath and make it Holy.
Sacraments
Holy Communion
Breaking bread and sharing juice is our sacred ritual of remembering the Last Supper with Jesus and His Disciples. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
All are welcome.
Baptisms
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me for theirs is the realm of God." The sacrament of Baptism is a glorious opportunity to celebrate the gift of Spirit through the element of water. Baptisms are included in our regular Sunday Worship Service. Anyone desiring a Baptism should contact Liz Nelson, Church Administrator at 978-744-3164 or email at: liz@tabernaclechurch.org
